I've been kind of quiet for a while I see. The days fly by and here we are.

The dog days of summer are still upon us here. Hot and muggy. Poor plants tired of the whole scene and are ready to pack up, but alas, the train isn't at the station.

I've been spending some of my time clearing out drawers and sorting things to donate or get rid of. I got stalled with the one drawer here in my desk that is ... well... just a total mess. I sorted five of the drawers, but this one is daunting. I'll have to take a picture of it before I begin.

This happens to me every year. I just feel the need to purge things. Lighten the load. Get organized. It's time to tackle the back room. I have some storage food that has reached its expiration date that I have been putting into the garbage each week. One of the cans was actually swollen! Yikes!

It's a country habit to have extra food around. Getting to a proper store is a bit of a drive for us so one tends to keep more on hand than is sometimes prudent.

Speaking of driving....

Well, that's a story for another day.
