Freedom of Religion !
Wed Dec 25 2002

Last night, my neighbor had arranged to take me to look at the Christmas lights. When I was getting ready to leave, my husband asked me where I was going. I told him we were off to see the Christmas decorations. He said with a twinkle in his eye and his tongue fully in cheek…. “I’m going to tell the Rabbi !”

He’s a nut. But I LIKE him that way.

Anyway, my neighbor, her mother and daughter and I all went for a ride all around our neighborhood to look at all the Christmas decorations. We had a great time. We saw all kinds of wonderful colors and themes, from simple to very complex. One group of three neighbors had gotten together and coordinated their decorations.
It was impressive. It was cheerful. It was fun !

Me, I am glad to live in America. And as long as we don’t let the ACLU take over, we will be able to celebrate our wonderful diversity of religion everywhere, in public and in private. Sometimes I wonder if the people who work at the ACLU can read plain English…

I defend your right and privilege to express your religious rituals, inside and outside, all over America, the land of the free and the home of the brave !

To all those who celebrate this season, Merry Christmas !

To all those who don’t have a nice day anyway

I've been listening to Christmas carols. More about that later.
