Hub Man is flying the friendly skies today, winging his way to Florida to inspect a piece of equipment before it is delivered to his work.
We left for the airport at O'dark-thirty, amid stiff north winds. We are supposed to get a lot of that today. I'm kinda happy though, because I think the leaves are going to blow OUT of our yard instead of piling up against our back door like last time. Fiona, who loves the great outdoors, went racing out the front door a little while ago, took note of the wild weather, and did a lightning about face and ran back in. What a weenie.
The good news is that Himself helped me yesterday and we got most of the heavy pruning done, and the garden pulled up and piled for later removal. Now all that's left is peach tree and apple tree trimming after the weather gets cold. And of course all the detail clean up. But I don't mind that so much. I know how to pull weeds. It's those big branches that get to me. So let 'er blow. I'm ready.
I have a lot planned for today, because I want to take tomorrow off. Maybe knit until I can't see straight, or read, or I don't know, something quiet and contemplative. Speaking of seeing straight, my glasses should be ready to pick up at Wal-Mart tomorrow. I'm curious to see how the bifocal thing is going to work out.
Well, time to get crackin'. The list is long, but the day is still young.

It's a blowin' up here, too.
My GOSH it's cold!!!
When it comes to the wind, even my dogs are weenies.
I think they get it from me. - From:Pragmatist (Legacy)On:Tue Oct 27 2009Be careful on stairs. That line between between the two focals is tricky! Don't move your head to focus; move your eyes between the two focals. Maybe less than a week you'll be an old hand with the bifocals.
I hope the weather is nicer in Florida. My spinner is trying to take off into the friendly skies.
Bless - From:InStitches (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 28 2009I was nervous when I first had to get bifocals, but as it turned out it took less than ten minutes to adjust..... just let your eyes do the work for you; they will always find the correct spot.
I still have some yard clean-up to do, but it will have to wait until this job comes to an end..... in just three more days. Can you hear me cheering? :)
I have all sorts of things planned...... just after my 6 am Monday morning date with my pillow. lol - From:DancingStar (Legacy)On:Wed Oct 28 2009"one fine day the east wind traded places with the west wind and that stirred things up a bit all through the hundred acre wood"
hehe
