Lord of the Rings *****

We went to see Lord of the Rings last night

We went to see Lord of the Rings last night. What a flick !

The opening sequence is going to blow your mind.

The scenery is fantastic and the digital parts are so seamless that you won’t even register that they are anything but part of the whole.

I have a confession to make though. I have never read the books. Please don’t hate me…

I enjoy science fiction and fantasy as much as anyone, but I could never get into Tolkien. It’s a personal failing I am sure. However, he certainly knows how to tell a good tale eh ?

So here’s the thing. I don’t know how it ends. (Please don’t tell me !)

Does Golum/Smeegle overcome his psychosis? Will Frodo go mad too ? What happens to that blasted good for nothing ring? Does Legolas get any sexier? ( if he does I am in SERIOUS trouble…)

I don’t know, I have to wait. Unless I decide to try and give the last book a go in the meantime.

Perhaps I could redeem myself in the eyes of the Tolkien fans.

One thing I did learn from this story, do NOT mess around with Ints okay ? They will kick your butt, AND mess up ALL your toys.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re gonna love it.

( But be sure to use the facilities before entering the theater… it’s LONG)

I'm with you on Tolkien. There are some authors I just can't get into. It may be excessive wordiness, too much description, maybe. I like to use my imagination.
I expect members of my family will be going to the movie, but I won't. Hate movie theaters. Rather watch it on home TV. That's an idea. I gave my daughter the expanded version on VHS for her birthday earlier this month.

I loved the LOTR, I read the books quite a while ago so I don't remember all of the details. If you haven't read the books before well your in for a treat in the last film.
