So, we have some brand new snow today...
But it's supposed to turn to rain later in the day. That's the story.
We shall see how that plays out.
Meanwhile winter weaving learning curve continues.
Here was my second attempt on the new loom...
Almost finished.
And here are the towels after they were washed...
One of them was quite a bit longer than the other. I'm still unsure how to gauge the length of the towels while working them on the loom.. AND how much they are going to shrink after washing which is quite a substantial amount as it turns out.
I decided to machine hem the longer one to see what that would be like.
That worked fairly well, though they would look a lot nicer hemmed this way if I had used smaller yarn. That's coming. Just not yet. I have a fair amount of this weight yarn that I want to use up while I practice my towel weaving techniques.
While I was composing this entry, the UPS man came to the door.
My long awaited new camera arrived!
This is how I spent my knitting money this year.
The battery is charging now. It takes 5 hours!
The small manual doesn't really tell you how to take pictures, or how to use the settings, so I figure there are going to be a lot of really wonky photos that will come and go on the SD card. Or in other words, many pixels will die before I'll be putting a decent picture from the new camera on these pages.
(Well, at least the Bothans with be safe.)
Got a little Star Wars fever there ( ) ?
(Absolutely not. It was a logical leap of metaphor. Nothing more.)
Okay, just checking.
By the way...
It's snowing like crazy now.
I'm glad I brought up an extra load of wood this morning.
Bring it on.
Bruce, Sunny and I are ready to be snowed in.
I think.
