Green And Foxy
Tue Jun 17 2014

This morning Sunny and I walked up to a different creek near our house… Well, .96 miles according to my iPod pedometer. Our forest in this area is generally what I would consider rather dry. Most places have dry forest floor, dead pine needles, clay soil, or decomposed granite. Sort of uninspiring in a lot of ways. But add a source of year round water and things change drastically. This little creek is fed by springs way up on the mountain that never dry up. And this is what you get: treecover   Big leaf maples and Alders. Footbridge   Sunny approves. sunny   This shows me what our forest would be like if we got more rainfall. I wish we did. I like this a lot. Here is what the woods looks like just above the ice pond near my house... piney   The trees are okay with it. But it's just not as pretty. I'm all about the pretty.  :-) As I was going down to the garden to turn on the sprinkler, I noticed a hen turkey and her three babies out in the pasture. [That other bird in the foreground is a cow bird]. turkeys   She didn't really like the look of me and led her brood over to an area of tall grass to get out of sight. One more thing… I found a little drawing of a fox on the internet some weeks ago, and last night I copied it in watercolor. I'm very fond of it... Little Fox2   Here's the original….   36c1e45d087cc160ca70c17f152f2775   Just to keep it real….. I'm a forger.   lime-wild

Beautiful places to walk, baby turkeys, and the gift of painting. Wow. Can't ask for more than that, eh? Love the fox! Nice job.

LOVE the fox pic. You did very well. I'm all about the foxes lately, not sure why but they really appeal for some reason.
