Adventure The Third

Today C. and I drove up north to spend part of the day in Ashland. I don't have any photos of that portion of the day, but we had a nice time seeing the sights and having a nice lunch at my favorite place, Greenleaf. [Though this may change, as she gave me a recommendation to another restaurant that she has eaten at in the past. So now its on my list of places to try.]
We came home in time to spend most of the late afternoon napping. A lovely luxury that we were grateful for. We needed to recover from all our overflow of fun!
Then, as always happens, we started to get hungry.
Lucky for us, we have food nearby.
Well, we had to do something about gathering it first.
These are my summer potatoes. Ones to eat now, not later!
We dug up two of these plants and found this treasure:
I'm thinking that potato plants rather LIKE my new garden beds.
C. washed them off with the garden hose and this was our haul...
We boiled them and ate them with butter. She was here for the first potatoes of the year. I'm glad I got to share them. It made them taste sweeter to me....

what a garden you have now -- I remember the first "plowing" -- things seem to be easier! So pleased for you!
