Taskless Away From Home

Well my friends, due to the miracle of wireless internet service, I am composing this entry on my laptop from a friend's house.
I agreed to do some part-time work for him. He is a salesman and needs some help with some tedious document conversions and formatting, spell checking etc. At the moment, I have nothing to work on because he is having trouble getting pricing from his office, and cannot give me anything to do right now. I feel bad.
But I cannot but remember a certain job I used to have where I was so often left to my own devices and went begging for work in the whole department. I didn't like it then, and I'm even less fond of it now.
I'm here to work. I'm not afraid to work. I can do the work. But this is, well, just sad.
Though I must admit, typing here is a vast improvement over the Freecell games I was playing. I got tired of them and decided to try connecting to the internet, and by jove, it worked, so here I am.
I can think of 49 things I could be doing at home right now. 49 Things. But alas, here I sit in this very nice home office, stressing because I'm not earning my keep!
Ack!
Later:
Well, we are throwing in the towel today. Can't move forward without prices.
It's a wash.
Off I go, home again! Woo Hoo!
(What's the price of drivel these days? I think I could make someone a real good deal on some....)

It's awful to sit around with nothing to do. Maybe you should take some knitting, just in case there's down time.

I certainly sympathize! I had a whole week worked out while the kids are away and himself is home, should have put us within a inch of having the house ready to sell. But here I sit on the first of our 9 days with a bum shoulder that's thrown the whole plan out the window so I am relegated to 'supervising' =( I don't dare count the number of things on my 'to do' list!

Are you feeling better today? How're the ribs?
Being at work with no work to do is awful. Glad you got to go home!

Sorry your day at work turned out to be a bust but the nice thing about working whether busy or not is that you are getting paid. I do kmow the feeling though off feeling as if time is being wasting because you have other things you could be doing. How long will you be working?
