Giving Thanks

In the spirit of the day, I'm making a list of some of the things I'm thankful for today.
Bruce.
He is not anywhere near 'state of the art', and I'm perfectly okay with that.
He suits me. He suits the house. And he knows his craft.
Sunny concurs.
Yarn.
The staff of life.
The gift of warmth from wooly creatures.
Exposure to said wooly leads to...
Creativity.
The law of nature that keeps my soul pliable, plump, and joyful.
I highly recommend it.
Find yours.
Feed it.
Share it.
Mac.
He brings me the world.
And you.
You light up my life.
And speaking of light...
Tradition.
I'm thankful for the rituals that mark the seasons, and that help us pause and remember where we have come from.
My garden.
I'm very thankful to have a plot of land to 'tend and keep' as is my birthright, commanded by God.
What I get to look at every day.
I never take it for granted.
Possibilities.
I'm slowly trying to make room in my life for a flock of hens. I'm in that picture too. On purpose. My little dream of chickens suffered a tsunami last year. The damage was … almost total. But just like this small abandoned greenhouse, there may be something to salvage. Some foundation to start to build upon. Right now I'm gently nursing my shattered ability to nurture. I used to be strong that way. Now I'm pretty wobbly.
But I'm not giving up.
When I'm ready, and only then, I will try my hand at commitment again.
If only to a clutch of chickens.
One has to begin somewhere.
And I think this is where I'll make my stand.
I want Sweet Tapato Pie!
Nashed tatoes and gravy!
The green bean thing!
Yummy!
Caring for a flock of hens is serious business.
I'll be happy to give you serious advice.
(Would everyone kindly shut up and pass the stuffing ?)

Among the many things I am thankful for today, you are certainly at the top of the list, my dear SIL.
What would I do without you?
I dare not even go there.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful that you came into my life, you have enriched it. Happy belated Thanksgiving and Happy Chanukah or Hanukkah, I never know which is the correct spelling.
I love your list of things to be thankful for.

I'm sitting here by the fire, yarn in hand and my Mac in front of me and thinking your list is spot on.
And just in case you were wondering, the chicken dream is worth holding. I won't say we haven't had a few upsets, but overall, the "Ladies" have added something special to our little farm effort. Dream on..... and then go out and make the dream a reality. :)

Hanukkah blessings and thanks for a lovely post with photos to warm our hearts. You have a busy life living "up" there but it looks cosy and homey.
Better batten down the hatches though -- I think Old Man Winter is coming in next week!
Hugs! Hope I will be here when you mosey down this way!
