[album 65561 Felted Bag2.JPG]
Here is the completed felted bag from ImNotLisa's pattern, with many hints and helps along the way! Thanks Cutie! You can see her version here:

The instructions for making it are linked to that page too in case you have the urge to try something new.
It is bigger than I thought it would be. It's a good size tote bag that I will put to use for sure. I can hardly wait to try another one, smaller this time, and knitted I think. I have a pattern, but not sure if I have enough yarn to complete it.
The colors in the photo are not quite as bright as the real thing.... I took several and this one comes the closest. As you can see, my kool aid dying technique could use some work, as every hank came out different. Though I think that adds to it's homemade charm somewhat.
We nearly blew away here last night. The rain fell hard at times and woke me up on and off. It felt good to be cozied up in a warm safe place from all the tempest.
Well, off to the next project. I think I need some new knitting needles for the task however. This means braving the elements. Maybe I will have some hot chocolate and think that over first....

Love the bag. I can't wait to try it. I think I'll skip the dying adventure, for now... I crocheted a bag yesterday and today... I'll be rippping it out. It was a learning experience but I don't like the shape or size so now I'm going to adapt it and try again.

You will show off the bag tomorrow night, won't you?

Here's a link to changing colors - http://www.stitchguide.com/stitches/crochet/stitch_pages/cro_color_change.html
I don't recommend tying knots if you can avoid it, as over time one of those knots might come unraveled and then you would not have enough yarn to re-stitch and fix it. The felted knots are fine though, just try and get those to unravel. :o)
When you change colors, leave a long enough tail of the beginning of the new color and the old color, grab a yarn needle and work the tail back into the stitches. If you bury the old color tail in the old color stitches it will be nearly impossible to see it, and go back and forth at least once - it will lock itself tight and you won't be able to pull it loose. No worries about it unraveling in the washing machine. Do the same for the new color tail, bury it in the new color stitches and you can be confident that your project will last a long time.
I've never felted but it looks like a usefully bag. I tried to make a crocheted bag a while back and it was just too sloppy. Might have to try felting. Now to convince my cat not to chew through the yarn...
Thanks for the compliment, you made me smile. I think you have a pretty cute setup here as well.
Can't wait to see what your next project is!
my effort would not have looked like that!
