I discovered that it is impossible to take a picture of both my hands at the same time without a tripod and a timed shutter release. So these will have to do.
I REALLY had fun knitting these gloves. I admit this yarn is a little loud. But in person they are so cheerful that I don't mind that you can't really see the cable details as much as I'd like.

Besides, it won't be the first pair. I got over my fear of 'waste yarn' stitches pretty quick, and sidestepped the knitted picot bind off which I thought looked wonky even in the original pattern.
I DID rip out my original crochet picot edging and replaced it with a better one that I worked out on the second glove. I'm glad I did. It doesn't flare as much.

And just to prove I'm no chicken in the fashion statement department, I am wearing them out today while I go shopping.

I might have to stop over at the yarn shop and find myself some mohair yarn. I got this pair out of just one ball of yarn. So I think I can splurge a little on one ball of mohair don't you???

(Don't mention it to the Hen.)

I'm not afraid of her.

(You are a big fat liar too....)

Cashmere, in an Oatmeal-ish color. Definitely. Cashmere, particularly since it only takes one ball of yarn.

Or angora, definitely angora.

Oh, wait... alpaca! Definitely alpaca yarn gloves! Like the cinnamon color here:

Oh, no finger mitts. I was waiting to see how you did the fingers, and now I realize that the pictures show the finished mitts. Ok, got it now.

Variegated yarn really doesn't show cable. Makes a nice color pattern, though.

well done .

Yes, a lovely soft angora/mohair/alpaca would be just the thing!

Mmmmm... lovely! I only wish I thought I could get them finished in two days if I knit them for myself. If I ordered the yarn that Alli linked, do you think I'd need one or two balls of it for myself? I'm liking the Sangria color. I do have some Wool of the Andes lying around though, I could use that. Yum!

Oh yes, they're both lovely. I agree; a little splurge on only one ball of mohair is a good idea. ;-)

You did splurge, didn't you? :o)

I love the gloves!
