We holed up like hibernating bears yesterday with the rain and cold firmly at bay on the outdoors. I think I did poke my nose out once in the morning to test the air, not unlike Noah breaking open the hatch to check out the current weather conditions. I sent no doves afield though, it didn't seem humane to do so.
Today, it's calm, and no rain yet. That's a blessing because I have to go out and do some errands. But before I do, I want to share a simple recipe with you. It's one that I found on the Weight Watchers site last year, and that I make once in a while when I feel the need for something sweet..... (every day right?) Can it ()..... I'm trying to have a cooking moment here.....
Angel Food Muffins
You take a box of angel food cake mix
And you add a 20 oz can of crushed pineapple
You mix this up with your mixer till it's frothy. Just a few minutes does it.
I make about 32 muffins with this stuff. Bake your muffins at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
They are 1 point each if you are counting WW points.
Guess what? The state lottery is 81 million now. And I have a ticket!
(Big whoop... you had one the last two drawings too. And what did THOSE get you?)
You know, it must really be difficult being (you) sometimes. . . .

On the mushrooms, there are some poisonous ones that are similar to the morels, so good you did not eat the ones you found if you are not sure. Yes, the morels are hollow. I had to was the ones we had and then slice them before putting them in flour and frying them. I would soak them in water with salt to get the ants and critters out before that. Once, I caused an orange millipede to become homeless! That thing was huge, about the size of my pinky, and I understand they can be poisonous. However, the morels were worth it!
I am so thankful that I had those years out in the wild to appreciate those kinds of things so close to nature. It was a true gift.
Have a great day!

Other than being boo-cold here it has not been too bad. We had a light dusting of snow Friday night, but that is mostly gone now with only a few patches remaining in shady areas.
I am quite content to stay indoors and drink hot tea. :)
