Stand Clear - Genius At Work
Sun Jun 06 2010

There are very few things in this life that can set my world straight as reliably as getting my hands on some of this:

[album 65561 Bread Dough.jpg]

Truly.

I'm not sure what alchemy is at work, but all is right with the world this morning, at least within the square footage of my kitchen.

Though I must be honest. I can't help it. The ball of dough you see above has an error in it, and I immediately started another batch.

I promised to bring a loaf of my world famous whole wheat bread to my brother and sister in law tomorrow. Only thing is, I forgot a key ingredient.
Carob powder. I cannot believe I did that. The bread itself will be fine, it just won't be the kind I promised.

(So much for your reputation as a world class baker. There it goes, out the window. Right here on the blogosphere. Nice job Cupcake.)

ANYWAY, I am about to mix up the next ball of dough. I had to grind the flour first. It's waiting in the kitchen. So when I'm finished, I will have EIGHT loaves of lovely whole wheat bread to do something with. Wish I could share some by molecular transport right into your kitchens. :-)

For some reason God wants me to go back up north tomorrow. I managed to chip a piece off one of my fillings and I get to see my dentist. You know, the one I just saw a few short weeks ago??? Ain't life grand? But I can hardly complain, I am in no pain and I get to see my peeps again! Thank God for modern dentistry. That's all I have to say about it.

Well, I gotta run, I can smell the first batch of bread in the oven, which means it is getting close to being done. I don't want to add over baking to my list of foibles today.

Oh! Oh! OH! I'm suffering here. I would be happy to take any of your rejects, or less-than--perfect loaves. Any Time!!

Just too many miles between us.

    Bless

    Hey! I'm drooling over here!
    Can't you come today?!!
    I know. I know.
    Fur children.
Can't wait to hug your neck!!
And eat your bread, of course.

Home baked bread always puts me in a happy place. My mother baked all our bread every week. Baking day was my favorite; the smell greeting us when we got home from school was heavenly. And mom always let us cut into one loaf warm from the oven. yummmmm........ :)

Just so long as you didn't chip your tooth on some of your bread! *grin*
