Early Birds
Sun Nov 27 2005

I'm feeling quite the genius this morning.

I went to bed very early last night to see if I could get my days and nights straightened out. (too many afternoon naps lately) Slept for 10 hours. I call that a success.

This of course means I was up very early and buzzing around. I had some errands to do and skipped over to WalMart by 8 AM. There was no traffic, there were no crowds or lines, I found everything on my list and was home by 9 o'clock.

I should do this more often.

On the way out of our subdivision, I saw two very large wild turkeys crossing the street..... at a crosswalk no less! They looked hilarious. Seemed to me that they were flaunting around now that they know Thanksgiving is over.

And to make the odd animal sightings complete, I also saw a turkey crossing Sunrise Blvd. Brave bird. Stupid, but brave. Good thing it was early of a Sunday morning, otherwise he most likely would have met his demise. Crossing 6 lanes of traffic is not for the faint hearted of avian kind.

I'm in a mood today to get a lot of things done. I have a feeling that I may get called to work tomorrow, so I think I will get things squared away here just in case. It always makes it easier for me when I have to leave the house, to know that it is in order and my chores aren't piled up.

So off into the fray I go....

Turkeys in the crosswalk? Well, they're really urbanized.

But that one trying to cross six lanes of traffic, on Sunrise yet, Gevalt!!!!

i'm glad they made it safely across
the other week i passed beside a poor duck standing on a white dotted line in the very middle of the high speed motorway just barely hanging onto its beak. i couldn't bear to watch it for long as i suspect it was not too far from death :(
