Wooly Wooly Sheep

I know there are a lot of blogging knitters out there. I follow their adventures all the time. And I know they have a lot of lovely yarn in their stashes. [Or so they say.] But today, I can say for a certainty that I am the most fortunate of knitters.

I found this in my mailbox yesterday:

And for a closer look......

Some of you may remember this entry - Fleece Dreams. Well, this is the end result of a lot of spinning.

Thank you SO much P.! I am now on the hunt for the perfect sweater pattern to try my hand at. I only hope I can do this wonderful yarn justice. My knitting knees are knocking together in trepidation.

I tried my best to get the color right. It is a black coffee brown in real life and full of character and earthiness. I could not wait to see what it looks like knitted up and did a little swatch last night. But I don't have the proper needle size that she told me to use, so I ripped it out and will try again once I have fetched the proper equipment.

God has blessed me with the most excellent assortment of friends.

So off I go, head held high as I am the Queen of Handspun Yarn for the day.....

(I suppose this means we have to scurry about saying "YEEESSS Your Majesty!" all day long like Alice in Wonderland. The things we have to put up with around here...... )

amazing and perfect....being a lover of wool myself I once drove to Amish country in PA and bought some bagged raw wool straight from the sheep. I washed it, sanitized it, combed it and used it for doll hair on my 23" preacher dolls...hmmm...I might have to search for some photos and post them on my journal... thanks for sharing those beautiful pics... and happy knitting !

That is beautiful wool yarn. And I'm itching just looking at it.

I'm seeing a plain knit with a cable stitch running from one shoulder to the hem.

Oh, do get your needles and get started!

And you, ( ), hush up!

The Museum of Welsh life in Cardiff, Wales shears their own sheep and spins & dyes their own yarns and I've always found that very fascinating! Who knew that wool could be soooooo soft?????

funky colour brown and black

well I said I would return with an invention of a word

sublusion 1. the erasing of an illusion from the mind especially through intensive reality therapy or detoxing2.dreamanalysis especially the inexpensive kind like just teasing your brain a little with thinking 3.psychical melt down

hee hee I hope you like it

I just read in the journal today that the new word given by the lexicons for 2007 is plutoed because pluto wasnt all that it was made out to be at first and plutoed means a devaluing or diminishing comment
I think I have the spelling right
it seems rather silly to me really but then can a word seem silly it can represent something silly or be used inappropriately to render it silly
anyway never mind

very nice twig project I especially love the abstraction of it all you really do have a way with so many kinds of materials and your melody sounds so passionate

you rock girl

I almost had to get Rick to leave a comment, I was so busy drooling over those photos. That is some beautiful yarn there, I'm incredibly jealous. I can't even throw an exclamation point in here, there aren't enough to express just how jealous I am. WOW.

Weather report, back page of Metro section of the Bee; weather reporter on Ch 13. It's an absolute. Only the One knows for sure, but the temperatures are going down-down-down. And the sky looked threatening about 6pm when I went out.

But what do I know?

Wonderful... it deserves a verse all its own.

Ba Ba Black sheep; have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.
One for my master, one for the dame and
One for Yeztirah who lives just down the lane. :)

By the way, I see ( ) made it home safe and sound. Don't let him give you too much grief. As I recall the Queen in Alice In Wonderland was forever commanding "Off with her head!" Have you a tiara handy? ;)
