In the Spring, I was blessed with a lot of wood.
A really nice man and two helpers delivered it:
It was… ummm…. a LOT of wood.
I left it out there for quite some time to dry out in the sun.
But at a certain point, it needed to get under cover. And there's only one way that happens.
Sweat.
Now to be fair, Mr. P. sometimes would come down and throw wood into the covered area for me, then I would stack it. But I did some of that myself. And I stacked, and stacked. . . and stacked some more. A little bit every week. Yesterday, we worked together and got most of the last pile put away.
Well, this morning, I gathered up the very last sticks and odd bits and finished the job.
It was Epic.
Sunny signed off on it:
It's a thing of beauty:
The small pile on the right is my oak. That's my day's wages for helping S. gather wood on the other Epic Wood day.
Though it's hard to think of building fires right now with our hot dry weather, and wildfires burning all around us….
But trust me...
Bruce and I have plans this winter.
