Tradition
Fri Nov 25 2005

We were 23 at Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. Now THAT is a houseful. The food was delicious. The company congenial. There was a baby to shmooze and a few grumpy old men to entertain us.

We had ALL the traditional things to eat. Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, dressing, two jello salads and one fruit salad, homemade rolls,(which everyone raved about by the way!) peas, and an assortment of pies. Pumpkin, pecan, mince, banana cream, rhubarb and cheesecake respectively. Now THAT is a feast, any way you cut it.

I did not eat too much. I was very happy about that.

And to make the week complete, it rained very nicely today. Which we needed I can tell you. Not much else going on. We have been very lazy today. And that's just fine by me.

Sounds like a wonderful family gathering!

Something I think families should do more than once a year.

Mince pie... YUMMY! I haven't had it in years and occasionally get a hankering for it. I'm the only one who likes it though, and I can't justify buying a whole pie just for me.

I couldn't help read your title as if you were the guy from Fiddler on the Roof. Sounds like a great day. ;-)

RYC: Prairie Gardens is an interesting place. They are a nursery, a craft store, and furniture and home decor place. I love going there though their prices are getting a little, well, pricey *sigh*
