The Four Tomatoes
Sun Jul 17 2005

I am getting to know my new CPU. It is getting to know me.

I think we like each other so far.

With the help of one of my sons, I got the digital camera back up and running, and have this to share from the backyard jungle:

[album 65561 Four Tomatoes2.JPG]

It is sticky hot here today and we are watering everything in sight. The poor grass is struggling to keep a happy face in this unrelenting summer sun and heat.

We went to a baseball game last night and had a fun time. Part of the fun was eating fabulously overpriced ice cream and drinking lemonade to keep from melting. It was WARM even after the sun went down.

I got to witness a classic nose to nose, baseball cap to baseball cap, shouting match between one of the coaches and an umpire. I never DID figure out what they were SO upset about because of course we could not hear them. And the announcers keep quiet during things like that. Not a peep from them. It ended with the coach being ejected from the game. He showed his contempt for the whole thing by taking his sweet time strolling off the field.

Ah baseball.

I am trying to muster enough courage to head out to the grocery to stock up on a lot of basics. The only thing that makes it seems doable is I have promised myself some butter brickle ice cream as a reward. And I don't usually care that much about ice cream.... It must be the heat.

One more thing you need to fix is the http:// that lets us go directly to your diary. I had to go to Search and put in your name to get here.

Too bad we can't be tomatoes in the summertime. They thrive on heat. Yours look promising. I remember picking tomatoes from the vine when staying with a farming aunt & uncle. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can compare!

Baseball? Guess I'll check the Sports section and see if there's any comment.

I hope mine look that good soon! All I've got are flowers and one little dime sized wannabe tomato.
I'm just looking forward to a fresh tomato sandwich, I've been waiting since last year for one!
