I must admit that when I get interested in something I CAN at times go temporarily OCD over it.
(Temporarily? I don't think that word means what you think it means.)
In any case, for the time being, I am partially irresponsible and 100% giddy over sending postcards. And for me, this opened up the possibility of making my own. This is what I DO. I'm the homemade Princess of Heartwood Cottage.
So I started making prototypes right away. I made copies on my printer of the most recent bird that I painted. Then glued it onto some cardstock.

I'm very happy with it. But I ordered some sturdier cardstock that I hope will work even better.
Please notice my new desk pad! The piece of posterboard I have had on there for well over a year, finally started to get on my nerves. I hope this thing will hold up to spilt ink and other mishaps.
So I'm not sure if you are aware, but on the 12th of July the postal rates are going up.
(Your timing to get involved in a hobby that involves postage is spectacularly dimwitted.)
Well, I decided to make a post office run this morning and bought a stunning number of stamps at the current prices. It was the best I could do to mitigate the damage to my pocketbook in the long run.
(I'm sure your pocketbook is questioning your life choices anyway. I saw how much money you spent.)
Yeah, well, it's a good thing you are sworn to secrecy.
(I never made such a foolish agr . . .)
Oh yes you did. 🤣

Love the bird!
You've got awesome and so very rewarding hobby! and definitely talent to go with it.
when I'll retire...eventually (or should I say "if"...) I'm inspired by you to try out a few things and find which homemade princess am I.
I did NOT know postage was going up. Time to buy a few more sheets. Thank you!
