Ben Has A Feeling Something Is Not Right

It's cool and cloudy here this morning. Lovely weather in my book.
Hub Man says he is going skydiving today. But the clouds have to move out first.
The last several nights Ben has been waking us up whining and causing a mini ruckus. He seems to think there is something sinister going on in my closet.
The most sinister thing in there as far as I could tell is my bug out pack.
(What's a bug out pack?)
That's for me to know and for you to keep your nose out of.
(Yeah, but YOU brought it up.)
Well, I'll think about showing it to you one day.
(Be still my beating parts of speech....)
ANYWAY, Ben persisted night after night in trying to tell us we needed to worry about what was going on in there. Finally this morning I followed him into the closet, which gave him no end of joy that I was taking him seriously. He stared at the upper shelf where the suitcase sits. I moved some things around, plucked down an empty box for him to sniff to perhaps satisfy him that it was all in his head. As I was about to put the box back on the shelf, I heard something. I very faint scritching sound. Ben looked right at me.... 'SEE? I TOLD you!' Then I heard it again. Sounds like we may have a mouse in the attic.
Ben is very worried about it:
So I'm off to the store today to get some mouse traps. What a lovely errand eh?
Ah, look. The sun is peeking out from the cloud cover.
Can crazed men falling out of the sky with parachutes be far behind?

You don't have "a" mouse, I'll wager. So, yeah, buy a bunch of traps.
What was Fiona doing all this while? Cats are supposed to be the mouse catchers. So, good for Ben doing double duty!

Smart dog! I hope your mouse hasnt done any damage. We had one for a month before the cats culd catch it. left evidence all over the place. He seemed to have a taste for instruction manuals and yoga mats!

Bertha is the same way with the mice but she is so big and clumsy in my little house she can't catch the little rodents, use peanut butter in the traps works great and easy to load.

David found a dead field mouse in the yard yesterday that looked like a cat got a hold of. Havne;t seen one around since the first year we moved here. Interesting. Hope you find yours!

Load the trap with a dab of peanut butter as suggested, but top it with one piece of cat food. The little buggers go for it every time.
Good job Ben. You're a keeper. :)
