December.
How did this happen? Why wasn't I notified? What memo? I just got used to writing 2009, now it will be 2010 soon. I'll get whiplash.
(You indulge in more hyperbole than is seemly. Contain yourself.)
Nope.
Out in the back yard a little surprise happened. The Clemantine orange tree that I THOUGHT wasn't bearing much fruit, slowly began to reveal that I was happily mistaken. Oranges are hard to see until they turn color. I'm not kidding. I'm convinced they come with cloaking devices installed that work only until late November, then they break down and.... boom!, there's yer oranges!

I picked one to taste for ripeness. They need a few more weeks. That one was a little on the tart side, but close, very close.
Not much is going on back there right now, though the faithful Feverfew is doing its thing.
I just love that little plant...

If you look very closely, you will see a tiny ant. He was moving in slow motion from the cold weather. We had frost this morning. And I'm glad of it. It's December after all, we SHOULD have frost.

- From:InStitches (Legacy)On:Thu Dec 03 2009We had our first hard frost this morning......only a month late. The air is so crisp and crystal clear the mountains almost look surreal in their brilliant white coats. It was a glorious day.
