To Frost or not to Frost ?
Wed Dec 18 2002

You know how every now and then it is a nice thing to open all the doors and windows and air out the house ? Well, this week God is airing out California. We have been thoroughly and completely AIRED OUT !
And while He is at it, He decided to hose us down also. And we HAVE been hosed !

Last night the wind was blowing and the rain was pouring. I felt like Dorothy and fully expected to wake up this morning in the land of OZ.
But alas we are still here, soaking wet and frazzled. BUT we do have nice clean air. The ocean is over 100 miles from here, but I swear I can smell the salt in the air. It’s wonderful really.

This is SO different than the endless summer days without a cloud in the sky and not a drop of rain for months and months. I cannot complain, I only report. Besides that this weather is good for book reading, writing and brownie baking. And I am taking advantage of all three. The brownies are cooling on top of the stove right now. The only question is to frost or not to frost said brownies. Frosted brownies, the epitome of decadence.

What do you think ? Should we frost the brownies ?

Oh, my dear, frost or don't frost, but save one for me??

According to the weather report, we're due for more hosing and blowing, and if it keeps up as predicted we may well end up on the seashore.

Why frosted of course! I can smell them through this screen as they sit on your counter cooling!

Hey, thanks for the comments, as for what "poetry in a contemporary voice which seeks to subvert the genre" means..i don't know the technical description but i refer to it simply as badly written wanky psychobable, does that explain sufficiently? think of the quote about modern art "A product of the untalented, sold by the unprincipled to the utterly bewildered" and apply to poetry and you get the idea...perhaps you now understand my total panic.
