Order In The Court
Thu Feb 16 2006

(Where have YOU been miss "Absent Without Leave"?)

Oh all right, I was on jury duty for two days okay?

I did not get chosen. It's just as well. I have discovered I have a rebellious streak these days in the judicial department. I think we need some reforms. I also found out that I am not a quick wit in situations such as this. After being away from the place for 12 hours I finally figured out what question I should have asked about a question I was asked!

I must be a muller-over kind of person. I mulled and mulled when I got home and finally did come to the kernel of the matter. It takes a while to remove the husks around issues these days. Only thing is, now it's way too late to do anything about it. I get pretty intimidated in courtrooms, and when I feel like I am being herded down a path that makes my sense of fairness wake up, I start to balk like a poorly trained donkey. I don't LIKE being herded.

Never matter. I'm out of the picture.

The one thing that was a consolation, is that the judge in the case is top drawer. I trust him to keep things in order since they will be deprived of my presence.

(Delusional again..... sigh)

Yeah, whatever.

Their Honors Nigel, Cedric and Basil would like a word..... and because EVERYBODY gets a chance to have their say in court, here is their deposition.

"We hereupon assert that all matters before our court are in our most capable hands, and the questionable protestations of what can most assuredly be proven to be a delusional personage need not concern the court, nor any of its denizens.
We shall in due course and with all diligence conclude the case at hand without the help of any psychiatrically challenged individuals mucking up the works, thank you very much.
You are now free to move about the country."

Okeedokey.

It is sad to have Jury Duty and see the scum of earth surface. Been there a few times and it is a duty we must do for our future.

Well, it's probably for the best. I've been called up three times, but got out of it each time because of looking after my kids. I don't think I'd want to give it a go, to be perfectly honest, though. I am pretty angry with the whole court system here in my country. ;-)

I've only been called up once but the night before when I called to confirm as requested I was informed it had been cancelled. Even still I worried for a day or two that I was given the wrong information and they'd come looking for me. So far so good. ;o)
