Well happy fall to y'all! A lot has happened since my last post... all of it related to a paradigm shift that swept through my life without warning. (That's pretty dramatic when I know for a fact you are only referring to a day planner. Let's tone it down a bit shall we Cupcake?) This is a really good example of why you don't have a CLUE what you are talking about about most of the time ( ). So, as I was saying... paradigm shift. I have been using this kind of day planner for ... I don't know... 10 years or more. dsc02294 Cocoa Daisy planner pages. (Awesome!) But one day last week as I was making out my plan for the day, I suddenly got very, very annoyed with those rings. They were in my WAY.  I decided on the spot I needed to do something about it. I wanted to enjoy my writing experience, especially since it is something I do a LOT of in my life. Pens and paper are my therapists. There's no other way to put it. And planning with this binder was no longer 'enhancing my calm'. [ref. 'Demolition Man'] So, at the suggestion of my sister-in-law I joined a FB page for traveler's notebooks and threw myself on the mercy of the group and started asking questions. I knew I was going to have to buy a leather cover for my inserts and started looking at what was available. [Turns out there are myriads!] which only made my search more difficult. Then I remembered G., a school friend who is now a saddle maker. He KNOWS from leather. So I called him up and trotted myself out to his shop and told him what I wanted to do. I had brought a template with me from measurements provided by the helpful people on the FB site. Before long we were looking at a work of art.... dsc02275 He has all the specialized tools for the task, and it was fun for me to make small decisions along the way about leather and stitching and stamping.  I love everything about it. Everything. Especially that it was made for me by a friend. I feel very blessed. I brought it home, strung the elastics and started making inserts for it. I also ordered some printed ones on line. Today my order from AOR Journals arrived and I could set up my new planner. There's a printed calendar for 2017, a weekly spread, and a notebook with lines on one side and graph on the other ... perfect! dsc02284 She even included a little journaling card and some washi tape. :-) I also made myself a homemade notebook for shopping lists and what not. So now, my planner is ready to use. I haven't written a thing in it yet. I have 'blank page syndrome' right now. I'll get over it soon.... dsc02286 I also made a book mark with charms attached: dsc02288 I'm a bit of a minimalist in this department. I have seen some really elaborate and beautiful charms that people put on their planners. My talents do not lie along those lines, so I'm going with these. dsc02292 I love the organic nature of this entire way of keeping track of your life and your tasks. The leather is a responsive material, much like the wool I work with all the time. Soon it will mold itself a little more comfortably around my inserts. And now that I have a smaller size day planner [it's B6 size] I can carry it with me more easily. And I've decided to knit myself a new felted bag that it will fit in. Thank you to my sister-in-law and to G. for helping me realize my vision! So that's my story. And it's only begun. We have veered off into a different direction in the space time continuum. Let's see what lies ahead. (Girl, your overly developed sense of the dramatic is getting on my nerves.) Suck it up dude. And fasten your seatbelt. We are going on a Traveler's Notebook adventure! (Lordy, you aren't going to stop are you?) Not until we get there. (Where?) Out there.... https://youtu.be/irEx_LHg7co     lime-wild

Tell () to button his parentheses, a new planner definitely counts as a paradigm shift! (And it's gorgeous!)

You piqued my curiosity. After doing a bit of peeking about the internet I am now familiar with the Travelers Notebook. And here I thought Midori was just a Liquor. My life has been enriched. G did a wonderful job. Perhaps a new line of business may emerge...
