It feels like days and days since I was here, but I know from looking at the calendar it's just not so.
Rosh Hashanah was duly observed, shofar heard and apples and honey consumed. This is to fortify us for the coming of Yom Kippur. The Rabbi said today that in these days just before Yom Kippur, God is very close. For this I am thankful.
We have a new addition to our household.
A mostly white kitten.
The parts that are not white are gray. Just a few spots here and there. She (I think it's a she) came to us via Hub Man's mother who found an ad in the Penny Saver. When she arrived, she was crawling with fleas. So unfortunately her first experience in our home was to get a bath and dosed with flea drops, poor thing.
We debated on names. We decided it wouldn't be NICE to call her "Flea Bait".
Though this was our first impression of her.
So we softened it to Phoebe.
She is a scardy cat. Running under the couch or diving for dark places and thinks the litter box is a nice place to sleep. The only place I have seen her relieve herself is out in the grass in the backyard. So we put some pulled up grass clippings in the litter box hoping she will get the idea. Oh I just love potty training small fur covered animals.....
I will see if I can get a picture of her on here tomorrow. I need daylight for a good photo.
In the meantime, here is a picture of my fall garland and lights I put up a few days ago. Sorry for the poor quality of the shot. But it gives you an idea.
