Up The Creek

Sunny and I walked up to the creek today.
It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so we decided to do it now.
Still cold there, and icy. Though the ice has retreated quite a bit.
Here's what it looked like a few weeks ago...
We built a little fire practicing with our fire steel and char cloth.
There's not much going on there except the mushrooms.
This one found a nice hiding place...
But this one was the prettiest...
We are thawing out by Bruce now.
I'm looking forward to spending time up there when it's a little more user friendly.
But one can't be too picky in January when you have a raging case of cabin fever…. :-)
Any creek before the storm.

Be VERY cardfull of Creek snow bridges!! whe I WAS A LAD RABBIT hunting I fell through a flat snow bridge and into waste deep water. H ad heck of a time climbing out and getting to a cabin where eledry grama CUT my pants off and scared my Dad would be very upset after they could get me to talk. She put me in a tub and heated water on wood stove. Creeks are very scary,
