This is what happens when you hang out on the internet watching people playing with their pens and ink:
I really didn't think I would be buying any more pens after finding my Sailor "grail pen" :

But, I saw someone do a review of this pen and when I found out it only cost 20 dollars, I had to try it! I'm so glad I did. It's a dreamy little pen.
And there's a really good reason for acquiring it.
(Oh, you mean excuse.)
Depends on how you look at it.
(Weasel words.)
The main reason I wanted to get it, is I would like to make an ink swatch journal. I have been looking at them on-line and have begun to see them as an art form. One that is particularly attractive to my obsession with handwriting, pens, and paper in general.
I went so far as to order an 'inkvent' calendar that has 25 tiny samples of ink. I wanted to have one more pen to experiment with. This puts me at a total of four. In the grand scheme of the fountain pen addicts... I mean aficionados, that number would barely be considered a 'starter pack'. But I am in no danger of joining the obsessed, because I am not a collector. I'm a user. And more than that, having too much of anything makes me anxious, so I have a built-in regulator.
So anyway, I'm looking forward to starting my own ink swatch journal. I'm researching ways that people set them up and at the same time trying not to succumb to the fountain pen fumes. That's a tricky business right there.
And just to get philosophical, which is my inclination, it's GOOD to have a variety of hobbies. It's the spice of life. It's right up there in the emotional self-care category.
Even () can't argue with that.
(Oh really? Hold my ampersand....)
Sorry, my hands are full of fountain pens.
