My New Jacket
I went shopping today at Mervyn's which was like a ghost town. I thought it might be busy, beings as how they were having a Labor Day sale. Virtually everything in the place was on sale. Most of it, and I kid you not, was 50% off. Now if you want to find something to wear to a Tarts and Vicar's party, you would be in like Flynn. But if you want to dress in a semi-modest fashion, you would be out of luck. That store was loaded with the most inappropriate stuff for someone of my age and 'fashion' inclinations.
I did however score this little number in the petite section back in the corner.

Cute jacket. You have my sympathies on the shopping scene. I find it somewhat incredible that store buyers think we all want to dress like we are headed to the red light district. For that matter what makes them think we want our daughters to dress that way?

Try Penny's sales if you haven't already. A couple of years ago I bought $300 worth of beautiful men's sweaters in assorted sizes for $29. I still have two left. They made wonderful gifts. I think your trip to Mervyn's was a success. Did you know we don't have one in the Mall anymore? Now it's Kohls. They open next week.
