A few weeks ago, something came in the mail. I thought it was a book I had ordered a week earlier from Amazon. Turns out I was totally mistaken. . . Well, not TOTALLY, but close.
Hub Man decided he could not stand to see me dithering about a certain purchase another minute, and made an executive decision.
What was it?
Here's a hint:

Oh yeah. He did. I must in all honesty tell you I was not very gracious about it. I'm not all that fond of surprises you see. I need time to anticipate things. I enjoy them more that way. I know this is annoying to people, but what can I tell you. I LIKE anticipation. It gives me goose bumps. But with this, well, I had to jump in the deep end of the pool, and I didn't have my swim suit on. It was more than a bit of a shock. I was reeling, truth to tell...
Meet my Kindle DX.

Whammo. Zowie. Yikes. OMG. Eeep. Shazam!
Yesterday I bought and downloaded in less 30 seconds, "The Stand" by Stephen King. It will be nice not to have to hold up a thousand page book while I read it. And if I get tired of reading, the Kindle will read TO me. Yep. A male or female computer generated voice will read to you. It's not an ideal voice, but it gets the job done. You can also listen to audio books on it, and download music to read by. You can look up things on a basic web browser too, as it has wireless internet. One day I am going to post to my diary from the Kindle DX, just to see if it works. Because I CAN get to it, it's just sort of the plane jane version of my diary...

Here's what it looks like when you are ready to read from it:

It's pretty cool. It's very geeky. I haven't bonded with it yet. I'll let you know after my thousand pages of Stephen King.
(Is Hub Man still alive?)
Just barely.

Anyways, you mentioned postcards and it made me think of it.
Congratulations on your new Kindle. I'm sure you'll spend many hours reading while you knit or do mundane tasks, looking at car butts for example. My mother got her first generation Kindle a year or so after they were first launched. She loves hers with a deep and abiding passion, and hers won't read to her. Plus, hers is thick and pretty darned heavy. But she takes it everywhere with her. She has a black leather case, yours is much prettier.
Happy reading!
The more I study your new decor the more of you I see in it. Layers that reveal rebirth, nature, humor, a novel, short stories, love of art and a life ready to soar to greater heights; its all here. Love it. :)
Yeah, back on line, and it took only two hours.
Bless
So I will just add "ditto."
And LOVE IT the best of all.
I want the background in quilt panels, please. :o)
