Calm Moment
Tue Jan 03 2006

A conditional truce has been drawn up between Hamlet and Sunny.

The condition is that Sunny not invade too close into Hamlet's "personal space".

This is rather tricky for Sunny, because that imaginary boundary changes from minute to minute. I caught them in a relaxed moment a little bit ago:

Hub Man predicts they will be best buds in no time.

I am not so sure.

Time will tell.

I'm feeling the urge to purge in the clutter department around here. I have too many stacks of unfinished business and craft projects for my liking.
One also gets a bit of cabin fever this time of year and tidying up seems to alleviate the worst of it.

I have come to the realization that getting outside every day with Sunny is quite good for my frame of mind. There are lots of places to explore around here, that had gotten old when going by myself, but to her, everything outdoors is WONDERFUL. It's nice to have such an enthusiastic walking buddy.
I'm looking forward to letting her off the leash to really run around, but am not just 100% sure she will come to me when called in such a tempting situation. The open fields around here are VERY large.

Well, back to the laundry. Thank God for washers and dryers.

Try doing with her what we do with Shelby, find a tennis court or fenced basket ball court and take her there with a tennis ball, then run the heck out of her playing fetch!
I'm jealous of her sleeping schedule, you are a lucky Mom to have a furbaby that sleeps when she is supposed to!

I see that Hamlet appears relaxed, but there's a very watchful look about him, too. I'm waiting for a picture of them actually curled up together. That's the milestone!

At least Sunny is giving him time he needs to adjust. She has good manners.

Awwwwwww, what a cute picture! I agree with Hub Man. They'll be buddies in no time!

I'm so glad you and Sunny found each other! What a wonderful thing for you to show her new things and for her to show you the joy in that which had become mundane to you. You're a good match ;)

Ohmigosh they are so close to each other!! That is amazing, truly. I think I agree with Hubman too, it shouldn't take too long.

Yes Ma'am. Garlic mashed potatoes. Use either powdered garlic or roasted and substitute sour cream for milk. Add a dash of butter (but not too much). Yummy Stuff.

It may be an uneasy truce for the moment, but as Hamlet discovers Sunny is not a threat things should mellow. How clever of Sunny to be so nonchalant with her nap. I see a fast friendship coming on. :)

Well, our cat often grooms our dog. It's a weird relationship, but they've found a way to get along. Your animals will settle eventually, but it's kind of fun watching them get to know each other, I reckon. ;-)

One of our cats grooms the demon hell hound and the other lives to torment the stupid dog. Guess it's all down to personality!

That picture of the dog and cat is just adorable. I like the way they're eyeing each other. :-)

one of the best things about owning a dog i reckon, the fact that they're great company and keep you motivated to get out and go walking
