For the 'Ka' I was refering to, do a search for, 'Ka Dark Tower'. The wikepedia one has a pretty good description.

It is from the Dark Tower series by Stephan King. I'm in the middle of reading it right now, book four to be exact. It was the apple's ka to become pie. Not a bad destiny for an apple I would say.
