Hello from the frozen east.
Well not frozen exactly, but a darn sight colder than home. I left my peaches in all their new pale green infancy, and here nary a bud is swelling on any tree.
I went for a wonderful walk today in the woods across the creek from my parent's house. I saw a white tail deer, and a cottontail rabbit. All the furry things that ran away from me today were waving white behinds. [Much better looking than car butts let me tell you].
I initiated the homespun sweater to the brambles of the eastern woods. I had to stop several times to disengage from them gently. I didn't have any desire to snag the daylights out of it, but on the other hand, it's hardly a city sweater now is it?
It kept me just as warm as I could want even though it was 30 degrees out there this morning.
I crossed a few property lines I'm sure, but I came upon this scene and decided I wouldn't mind getting scolded as a tresspasser. There's a storm coming in and this is as much of the sun as we saw today.

Anyway, that was my big adventure for the day.
The trip here was as smooth as one could possibly ask for. Especially the second leg from Denver when there was an empty seat next to me which I got to spread out on. Made the whole thing more enjoyable. Though I did find the security measures quite amusing. The sight of all these people taking their shoes and belts and things off just struck me as hilarious. I know terrorism isn't hilarious. But the shoe thing just made me giggle. Maybe it was nerves.
Nah, I'm just easily amused.

- From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Thu Apr 03 2008I have to ask a question. I've flown numerous times since the whole "shoe" thing started. Did you happen to notice that TSA keeps a can of Oust at every check point??? Seriously. Look when you fly home. If you don't see a can, ask a screener *giggles*.
This being the midwest, I'm sure nobody called you out on tresspassing. They'd be more likely to rush out and bombard you with cookies and their life story.
Did you really wave to me on your way throught???? I thought you had so I waved back ;) - From:Pragmatist (Legacy)On:Thu Apr 03 2008That was, indeed, a wintry picture.
Did your food last long enough? Or did you supplement it. And how did the knitting go. Did your bamboo knitting pass inspection
????
Bless - From:Allimom (Legacy)On:Fri Apr 04 2008"The Shoe Thing" is why I always wear my slip-on sneakers when I travel. Much easier to step out of them and not worry about laces!
Hope your trip continues to be a good one.
