Spring on the "farm".
Okay, it's not a full fledged farm, but there's a lot to do!
I have been stretching my endurance levels in marathon weeding sessions. I have bruises and sore muscles to prove it too...
S. works circles around me, so I'm trying not to feel bad about myself. But dang that girl can do some heavy lifting!
Sometime soon, the garden will be tilled for the second time, now that she has horse manure spread all over it. We are pre-sprouting pea seeds on the counter and have broccoli and brussels sprout plants to put in.
Have you ever eaten rutabagas? There were some left over from winter that we cooked up and ate. Those things are pretty tasty. I will add them to my planting list from now on. I want to put in some parsnips too.
I've been so busy, that house hunting has taken a back seat. I was just thinking about it while I was cutting up carrots from the garden to make cream of carrot soup, and I got a call from D. telling me that a mutual friend had told her about a place for sale 'cheap'. So maybe if I just keep doing my chores and gardening and cooking, word will reach me at the cutting board in the kitchen that our house is ready for us!
(Sounds pretty lazy to me.)
Sorry ( ), you can't call me lazy. Not after the work that *I* have done in the last few weeks. If you want to be useful, win the lottery. Otherwise, can it.
If you will excuse me, I have soup to make.
I don't know if I like carrot soup. Are there ungyons in it? I don't like ungyons. Can we have fishy crackers in our carrot soup?
You can have any kind of crackers you like. As long as they are Ritz.
