Hub Man has flown to Megalopolis to drive back a vehicle for his boss. Won't be home till 8 or 9 tonight. I had plans to get some things done around here, but so far, have been on the phone with sons and daughter in law, and my mother, then puttered in the garden. I've had lunch now, so I suppose I should get busy and straighten up the house.
Maybe.
I keep checking Weblog Review to see if my latest review has been posted. But looks like the webmaster is taking the weekend off. (Wise man.) It also appears that most of our DearDiary friends are celebrating Mother's Day one way or another, so my inbox is only being visited by the Spammers. They never seem to sleep, or take a day off. Don't THEY have mothers?
Last night Hub Man and I went for a walk around the neighborhood and checked out the little league field that is being put in a few blocks away. There are nice gravel paths to walk on and really lush plantings they are putting in. Landscape roses, lavender, several kinds of low shrubs and other flowering plants, and some nice oak trees. It's going to be beautiful when they get the grass in finally. There are picnic tables and little barbecue things too. This park is very close to our house, so we might actually go over there and use those barbecues once in a while.
I have been feeling guilty about not working on the re-write of my novel. But evidently not guilty enough to actually begin doing something about it. However, I may be ready to commit to a days work on it this week. If my fidgets improve. I suppose I could tie myself to the chair. I keep wondering if I had a laptop if I would be more likely to work on it. Being able to work in other places besides in front of the monitor here in the computer room has it's appeal. But it might just be an imaginary appeal. I should borrow someones laptop for a week and see if I would really use it. I wonder if you can rent them?
Over the years I have figured something out about buying things. Sometimes what we THINK we are purchasing, turns out to be something very different in real life. Sometimes we are trying to buy and idea. . . . that has been distorted by the advertisers. And when we get THE THING, it turns out to have it's own built in set of annoyances that were NEVER mentioned! Bummer man.
Ah look! Sezrah and Allimom have updated their diaries! How do I know? Joel McCray (I am pretty sure) just sang the words.... "Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day. I've got a beautiful feelin', everything's goin' my way!" from the musical "Oklahoma". It's my "new mail notification" sound. Very agreeable. I just changed it the other day.
What a bunch of nonsense I have written here..... Ah well. It will have to hold this space, until I come up with something a little more...... creative.
Hope you had a nice Mother's Day....
