Little Promises
Wed Feb 07 2007

Here is my little Spring garden. The bravest plants in the yard at the moment. Everyone else is cowering in dormancy.

At the moment I am very happy that I divided those bulbs last fall. They are miniature daffodils. They should put on quite a show when they bloom. And by the looks of it, that won't be TOO long.

We have daffodils that bloomed on the side of the driveway in my neighbor's yard a couple weeks ago. How they have stood up to this cold weather is beyond me!

It's so hard not to run out and buy plants when I see those sweet faces. I'm trying so hard to patient for spring.

However did Pansy become a synonym for weakling? They are brave little funny-faces that bloom in the winter. And of course, bulbs want to be seen in glorious flower in late winter as a promise of spring.

I have one little clump of snowdrops in full bloom. They have reminded me that winter does not last forever.

Tentative at first, the daffodils have decided it has warmed enough at the moment to suit their needs and are about two inches above ground today. Spring cannot be far off. Such a happy thought. :)

    What a lovely little garden!

Our garden has a rather parched, tired look at the moment. It's a "waiting for autumn" garden.
