Yesterday we took in a new foster dog.
His name is Ace.
Though on the container of food they brought with them, it is written plain as day...
Ace-y-
He looks more like and Acey to me too...

No dog that is this close to the ground should be called by a macho name. ‘Wiggle Butt’ would suit him better.
All the pictures I took yesterday were blurry from trying to catch him in a settled moment. So these are his ‘second day’ photos.

He IS a little guy.
He came from a house with an overly exuberant two year old.
Sounds familiar. He was also one of two dogs in the house and the other dog was the alpha female so poor Acey was low dog on the pecking order. I’m hoping he will blossom now that he is with the laid back group here.
Our dogs don’t lord it over anyone, unless they behave VERY badly. Then Sunny has to show them the proper way to conduct themselves. She hates that part of her job.
Anyway, Ace is getting a bath today, though he doesn’t know it yet. I don’t know what he thinks of baths in general, I will soon find out specifically I'm sure.
So far he shows little interest in Fiona, which is just fine by her. As a matter of fact, she sensed he wasn't a threat from the beginning and actually stalked him for a while. I could just see it in her body language. 'Don't mess with me shorty, I can kick your furry tail clear into next week with one paw tied behind my back.'
But she didn't have to prove it.
Acey is not interested in confrontations.
Yet.
I've learned that dogs on the 'first day' are not themselves yet.
Today we will be keeping it low key around here to let Ace settle in and enjoy some peace and quiet away from his former dominance and exuberance perps.
And hopefully we will find out what HE wants to make of himself now that he is out on his own and can be his own dog.
