When I looked at the date of my last post, to say I was surprised would be an understatement.
Bad blogging form!
Sorry....
My only defense is that I have been experiencing the high holy days of Yom Kippur and Sukkot, which is still in progress. It kind of takes center stage around here.
Here's my little sukkah...
And I do mean little... I had to look up proper sukkah construction in order to make sure I was doing it right. Turns out, according to the laws, it could even be smaller than this if necessary! This little structure pales in comparison to some I have visited in years past. But since I made it all by myself, with what I had on hand, it turned out pretty well and fits right in with the rest of the rustic life hereabouts.
I couldn't do much of anything in it for the first few days because it was raining all the time. But as soon as it stopped, I started going down and having a bite to eat inside and enjoying looking at the remains of my garden and being thankful for a good harvest this year.
During the welcome inclement weather, I finished up a couple more pages in my journal...
I'm trying to add a newly painted watercolor on each spread. A purple hen seemed appropriate to the theme.
(There's nothing appropriate about a purple hen.)
Oh really?
Well there ARE lavender ones...
(!).
Yeah... that!
:-)
