I am tucked up here inside the house, watching the clouds move in. The wind blows, warning us to get ready for a storm. The sycamore tree in the front yard has lost all its leaves except for the very top ones. They look like little hands waving to the weather... "Land here, over here!" I won't complain however, it's winter after all, and my irises need watered anyway.
The kleenex box is at my elbow, but I only use one now and then. I've had much worse colds than this one... and I refuse to whine over much about it.
My big project of the day is to work some more on my felted purse. I spent a frustrating 15 minutes rolling up a hank of sky blue yarn into balls so I could begin to use that color. I learned my lesson and changed tactics with the next color.
Since Hub Man isn't available this morning, him being out in the chilly wind earning a living for us (bless him)... I needed a way to hold this yarn to keep it from tangling up. I finally settled on using my feet. I would rather have Hub Man, he's way cuter than my feet, but what was I going to do?
I propped them up on my computer desk and looped the hank of yarn between them and rolled it into a ball from that rather awkward position. I looked very, very silly,[Griffen looked on in horrified disgust, having much more interesting solutions in mind for my yarn] but at last, it is now in a neat ball without one tangle along the way.
So I have, purple, sky blue and lime green yarn for my purse.
What's that you say?
Okay...... I may have made a design error in the color department. But I am pressing on. It's an experiment after all. It's the first attempt. I mean even CAR manufacturers have let slip goofy designs. I submit as evidence . . . the Edsel. So I am allowed one garishly colored felted purse okay? I just wanted to get that out of the way.
You are now free to move about the country.

Banshee and I have had some discussions about the purpose of yarn. I usually win because I'm bigger.
BTW: I've found a use for the empty toilet paper roll. It works very nicely for left-over yarn. Cut a slit in one end, anchor the end of the yarn, then wrap the rest of the yarn around the roll, anchor the other end of the yarn in a slit cut into the opposite end of the roll.
