Winter Bounty
Wed Jan 30 2013

My plans bore fruit yesterday. Well, not exactly fruit. Unless you want to re-name this food item. We could call them... I don't know, Bagel Berries?   Only thing is, they are onion bagels. That seems an odd flavor for a fruit don't you think? (My dear woman, at this point, NOTHING would surprise me around here. Including onion flavored fruit.) The rest of the batch of 24 have found homes all around town. I made deliveries myself. Nothing like home made bagels to brighten people's day eh? I just ate half a one with some sliced avocado. The avocados came from from  S. She brought me fruit that she found on her recent travels, and  I gave her bagels. All's right with the world! ***   In other news. In my mailbox today I found a package from a friend, who happens to be a world traveler. She sent me this marvel…. It's an Orenburg shawl. It's light as a feather, but when you wear it, is quite warm. You can hardly believe anything that light can be so cozy warm!! Thank you M! You're a peach! (What's with the fruit theme today?) Wishful thinking in the middle of winter, that's what. In the meantime, we have good food, and warm clothing. It makes one hopeful for Spring.

having spent all my childhood in Siberia, this particular garnment is very well known to me.Worn out not one and not even two of those...used to call them - cowebs :-) they are very warm indeed, even for Siberia! The bagels look very yummy! If only not for onion flavour, I could've licked them off the screen! (unfortunatelly, allergic to onion, so my screen remained lick-free) It is only one day left and then we'll be into the last winter's month, and a shortest one too! Something to look forward to, eh?...warmth...colours...fruits ;-)

I love onion bagels (my favorite) and they looked yummy. What type of yarn is the cobweb made of?

So glad you like the shawl -- I do love them also. I found another one in a drawer yesterday -- so I still have plenty ROFL but ... gardening already? We planted too early last year and was sorry, but it wasn't THIS early LOL and .... the news down here says we will have "today", and then it is going to get colder/rainy/maybe snow .... in your area by Thursday/Friday??
