Is it ok to whistle. My singing days are gone and the songs of today have little meaning. So I whistle while I shop,work , or walk.

That's great advice. I tend to always be tapping or singing away to some tune or another. ;-)

Wow. Advice doesn't much better than that. What a world this would be if everybody would sing!
On that blue flower: By purest chance (as if there were such a thing) I walked into a nursery yesterday, and there were those very flowers! The lable said, "Penstemun BOP" and noted the BOP stood for "Beneath our Porch", which is where it was firt found. I disremember whose porch it was though.
