Well, with 8 hours of sleep under my pillow, I feel much more human today.
Though Jo Jo, from his recent experience decided last night that sleeping in our bed was a pretty good gig if you can get it, so he wanted up. We let him up to see what he would do. His favorite spot seems to be with his head on my pillow. But after about 10 minutes it got too warm for him and he moved to the foot of the bed. Even that proved too much and eventually he jumped down.
I don't really like sleeping with dogs. Even ones you love to pieces. But in his case, allowing him to get what he really wants now and then is good for his rehabilitation in my humble opinion.
He is still prone to panic though.
This morning for some whacked out reason Hamlet decided to jump up on the kitchen counter. He KNOWS this is unacceptable. I walked over and slid him off onto the floor where he decided that the dogs were going to attack him (all they were doing was watching) and he fuzzed up, hissed and ran like a maniac into the other room. Well, Jo Jo concluded that I was about to start a cat butchering business and has been avoiding me. I've been talking him off his emotional ledge and I think he is okay now as he is here on the floor next to the computer again. It doesn't take much to freak him out, poor little thing. But I don't let him indulge in those behaviors for long and I think it is having an accumulative effect.
Or I sure hope it is.
Today we are supposed to get a nice break from the heat wave.
Yesterday it was 106 at our house.
Today is only going to be 103. Aren't we lucky?
{Speak for yourself Cupcake. Besides that, you look a little burnt around the edges there...}
You are not looking so spiffy yourself.
Take a look in the mirror.
I guess heat is an equal opportunity cooker.
