I have a question. If you had no sight, sound, taste, hearing or touch, where would you be?

The Oracle Speaks:

My my, a philosopher, right out of the gate!

The first question I have is this: Are you talking about a newborn baby? Or an adult who lost all these senses.  If it is the former, since we learn about the world and ourselves from our senses I would imagine this unfortunate being would spend all its time on this planet in a state we can barely imagine. Though I would lean toward the possibility that he or she would spend that life consorting with angels.

If the latter, it would depend on the person's character and intellect. One could still communicate with others, even with those limited senses. One could still write, speak, create art and probably do things that we would think are impossible. You must remember, the human spirit is vast and resourceful.

I have recently noticed that many people have a ‘glazed over’ look in their eye and are speaking like robots. Can you explain the cause of this and is it contagious?

The Oracle Speaks:

My dear woman. The modern world is dancing on just this side of chaos. People sense this. Maybe not consciously, but somewhere inside them, there is a klaxon banging away and the ah-oo-ga alarm is going off. The sheer number of things one must keep track of and the tsunami of information that is thrown at most of us would certainly cause the effect you describe.

Unfortunately, it IS contagious. However in this 'disease' there also resides the cure.

It is the belief of the Oracle that this connection we are all sharing right now that is causing us such anxiety, is the same connection, that when the time comes will help us join together in moving into a new paradigm. When enlightenment comes, it will spread like lightning.

The Oracle awaits that day eagerly.

From: Pragmatist:

Questions, I have questions. Jillions of them. The main question right now is: where did I leave my mind? I miss it.

The Oracle Speaks:

When you have lived to an impressive age, if you are prudent, you have collected much wisdom.

The trick is to have a killer filing system. Either that or the opportunity to teach others some of what you have learned. Perhaps it's time for you to write a book.

Since pupik is Yiddish for navel, I guess my question is somewhat appropriate. Here goes:

Oh Great and Terrible Oracle Type Person,

Why don't dogs have inny & outty belly buttons like we human beans do?

The Oracle Speaks:

Their umbilicus tears away after birth and leaves a flat scar. If you look carefully, and feel their belly, [and who doesn't love to tickle a canine tummy] , you can find it. So rather than an inny or outty, they have a flatty. We choose to see this as adorable. It saves on paperwork.

From: Supertrooper:

Oh mighty oracle ...please answer me this ....why do the bones in my underwire bra pop out of the fabric after just a few washes ..its so annoying and means I am forever having to buy new bra's . I hope this isn't too personal a question oh mighty all knowing one .

The Oracle Speaks:

Perhaps you have not heard of the phrase 'built in obsolecence'.  Manufacturers have known about this trick for decades. Perhaps making a stitch or two over the place where the wire pops out will keep it in place a few washes longer. What about a little drop of glue near the weak spot in the fabric? Sew a Dr. Scholl's corn patch over the weak spot.  Be creative. Don't let the manufacturers win.

I'm feeling so much pressure to come up with a question that I am experiencing mind freeze.

Oh mighty great one, what causes that?

There!

A question!

Squeeeeeeeee!

The Oracle Speaks:

Fear of failure has nixed many an ice skater's chances for Olympic gold eh?  When we have fear, our blood vessels do funny things and mess around with our brain functions. Perhaps if you ran around your back yard for 15 minutes waving your hands in the air an screaming, you would flush your system of fear hormones and be able to think more clearly.

[It will take more than a puny little squeeee to do the job just in case you were wondering.]

It's just a thought....

The more we learn about our universe that seems to have no end .Do you believe there are other planets like Earth out there?

The Oracle speaks:

Ah another philosopher to rap things up.

Yes I do. Here I will let you into one of my innermost secrets. [We are feeling generous today.] Besides we live in perilous times. We need something hopeful to dwell on, do we not?

It is the conviction of the Oracle, that one of the reasons the universe is so vast is that when humans are ready for it, when they have come to a certain level of awareness and connection to the Divine, that they will be able to inhabit the depth and breadth of this universe. And that every lofty and worthy imagination men have ever had will become real. The Oracle believes that throughout all of human history have been creating worlds.  And one day we will be able to visit them. We are only limited by our own doubts or fears. If we let go those doubts and fears, many possibilities open up.

The Divine One is MUCH larger than people think.

And contrary to popular opinion, we are not puny and insignificant in this scheme of things. We are the recipient and the catalyst and engine of all those possible worlds. Our actions and deeds for good  permeate all existence. [Evil is finite. Goodness is Infinite.] At some point, the One will reveal this and we will all be amazed.

And with the help of the Divine we will fill the universe to overflowing.... with Goodness, Grace, and Beauty.
