UPS To The Rescue
Thu Mar 27 2008

I guess I should have been watching for the big brown truck instead of haunting the mail box because soon after I posted yesterday's entry, the UPS guy delivered the camera.

It's pretty nice, not at all pricey, but one thing I didn't realize is that it is very much like The Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz.

If it only had a brain....

It will only hold 5 pictures in it's internal memory. So I have to go buy some more brain at Wal-Mart. But not today. I'm not budging from my house today. No way.
I've seen enough car butts for one week thank you very much!

So here is my new journal:

I bought a quite inexpensive Journal Refill from Barnes and Noble that just has a cardboard cover. I sewed a cloth cover and gave it a pocket. I also found some cunning little wooden clothespins made by Paperchase to hold papers with. I stuffed the cloth pockets inside with envelopes and stamps and stickers and even a little plastic bag with some brads in it [which may be overkill] but I wanted to be able to affix oddments of this and that's that I might find in my travels.

Here's the opening page:

I have not figured out this camera just yet. I'm experimenting with the close up feature, and what not. It will take a while for us to bond I am sure. And it will take longer than usual since it will only keep five pictures at a time. I keep having to dump them to practice with it.

Anyway, it's here and we will see what we can come up with in the next few days.

I had an existential revelation though when I was installing the software for said low brain capacity camera. I'll tell you about it later.

Right now, I have a list of things to do today that is so long, it would make the feathers on Red's neck stand on end.

And she's nowhere to be found.

(Does this surprise you in any way??? The little fussbudget is probably harassing some other poor soul down the street right now....)

I love it when the Big Brown Truck comes to our house, it always brings the most interesting things to leave here!
    ;^D

Enjoy your new camera, and if you're truly determined to not leave the house for more than just today, I'm pretty sure you can find memory for your camera online!

You are so talented. I just love the things you do! I had the same problem when I bought a digital camera a few years back. I need a new one so maybe you have suggestions. I am planning on doing a old fashion scrap book that will be based on the New President elected in November, whom ever it is. I plan on doing it throughout their presidency so it may have to be more than one book. I want to do one that can hold a full size news paper page on each page if necessary and would be sturdy yet attractive. I'm wondering if I'm making any sense lol.
Have youself a great day stayimg in! Hugs, Richard

I know how you've missed it.
I love your journal. Very clever.

That's a right attractive journal. I love those little clothespins. Wish I could find the two that I (used to?) have. Looks like you've planned for every journaling need.

And the camera seems to be working OK, except for the limited memory. But we all have our limitations, don't we.

I've been missing Red. I think I asked where she might be. She's a nagging crab--or crabby nag-- but I miss seeing her around.

    Bless

So wonderfully creative! Its adorable. Sadly creativity was not one of the skills I was blessed with but I think that just makes me apreciate it all the more.
