In Which We Don't Give Up
Thu Aug 20 2009

I am living in an alternate reality.

The granddaughters have come to visit.

I'm up to my eyeballs in a vortex of quilt tents and hand held video games.

Plus the perennial... "Will you stop touching me?" refrain wafting through the atmosphere at all hours of the day.

They have been very good to Classy who was so distressed at their arrival that she threw up. This told me volumes about her former life. We had a pow wow with the girls and explained what they needed to do for Classy was to give her some personal space.

They have done a stunningly good job with her and already Classy has come over to them to get petted. She is a real trooper of a dog. I admire her on so many levels.
Another dog might have gotten sour and vicious. Not our little girl... nope. She's willing to give humans another chance.

I guess I won't dispatch any 8 year olds today either.

Who knows? They might grow up to be dog whisperers.

I need to go to bed now.

All of my allotment of brain cells have been used up for the day.

(Yeah, and you didn't start out with that many, so you must really be in a pickle right now...)

Meany.

    Good girl, Classy.
And good for the girls, too. It's hard for kids to stay away from cute dogs.
    I joined Facebook.
    God save the universe.

Looking back on it, I'm glad I had my grandkids over one at a time.

So somebody really knew the dog when she was named Classy. Classy Lassie.

    Bless

What fun having the girls, and good on them and Classy for learning to respect each other and work it all out being in the same space.
