We had a lovely day for the Scottish Games. The weather was just right. No big wind or rain or blazing heat.
Here is what it looked like when we were all set up, but the gates hadn't opened yet:

This was Ben's first appearance at the games, representing his Scottish ancestors. He was a bit confused by the dog pen and was trying to convince Hub Man that some mistake had been made and he had been placed in the 'cheap seats' when in fact he was supposed to be somewhere a LOT roomier.

Surprisingly, Ben was the largest Sheltie in attendance. My sturdy boy.
Here is one of our rescue volunteers with her Sheltie. We kept one or two or three Shelties on tables so people could pet them easily if they wanted to. Ben was a newbie and hasn't graduated to full fledged ambassador for the breed, so he stayed in his pen.

And this year, we had a truly blessed event. A very rare color type of Sheltie joined us. As a matter of fact no one in our very experienced group had ever seen one quite like this. He was wearing his pedigree so people could verify he was the real thing...
It was a special moment, let me tell you!

Okay, okay.... so I exaggerated. This little boy decided the empty pen was a great place to play. He locked himself in and crawled around on hands and knees and touched noses with the dogs in the next pen. His mother had her hands full convincing him to vacate the premises! Though there were no tears or tantrums. So he was a good little sheltie after all!
