Leftovers of the Brain
Wed Jun 04 2003

I am completely unprepared today for a diary entry…. I confess.

I have been working half of the day on my…. Hmmm, what shall I call it? Short story? I hesitate to call it a novel, if I called it a novel, I would not be able to sleep at night knowing I was trying to write a novel. So I am writing a story. A short story. A VERY short story. A few paragraphs strung together, some words, a few letters, whatever, it’s NOT a novel.
Not yet. Not yet.

So I have a slight headache from trying to type out of my scribble book into the computer. I think I may have to modify those scribbles if I am going to be transcribing them on a regular basis.

But all in all it’s been a productive day, even though it is blazing hot outside and I haven’t ventured forth since before noon. I was thankful that I didn’t have to go out today. Thank God for small favors….really.

So honest, all my creativity went into the scribble book and I apologize for giving you my brain leftovers today. But even I have my limits…

(Well so do we cupcake, and we expect something MUCH more interesting tomorrow.)

I will do my best :-)

Call it whatever you want to--just write it. A novel is like a huge meal. Too much for one sitting. A novellette is more like a regular meal. Takes less time, but still is filling. A short story is a snack. So, whatever you feel like eating, write it.

    Shalom.
