So, if you remember the day the tree trimmers came to take down the big limb we were worried about...
Well, it turns out we DID have what to worry about.
Mr. P sawed the section of the tree that had all the woodpecker holes in it in half to see what it looked like inside...
This is only one half of the size of the hollow area. 😶
When I first pointed it out to Mr. P, I felt kind of funny, like I was overreacting and being paranoid. But now, everyone agrees it was really a good idea to take that limb down.
The good news is, he now has some premium oak wood for this winter. He cut up all the limbs and split the rounds.
I know this just looks like a pile of firewood, but to those of us who heat our homes with wood, this is like a pile of gold! Limb wood is especially nice as those pieces with the bark all around still, burn slow and hot. They will keep Mr. P warm this winter for sure!
