Pictures From The Trip

For the wedding we stayed in this hotel:

It was a wonderful place. Old enough to be interesting, but not creepy or anything.
They updated the rooms somewhat, but not at all modern. They feel very homey. No TV. No phones in the rooms. We liked it a lot.

After the wedding, we boarded the train and sat at this table:

Pretty eh?

Which was in this train car:

We were blessed to have a young Marine in attendance.

And as we looked out the windows, this is what was going by:

Under such circumstances, one would have to work VERY hard not to rejoice!
My nose was pressed to the window most of the trip. We went very slowly too which made for a relaxed feeling. The food was fabulous. I had Salmon with sun dried tomato and asparagus that was cooked to absolute perfection.

Well, have a nice weekend y'all!

Wow! Nice places. I love the hotel.

I really would like to take that dinner train ride sometime.

Will we see pictures of the happy couple?

That view out the train window is very much like what Megan lives with every day. Any wonder she's so happy?

I spotted that uniform right off. Relative?

I remember a couple trips on a train. The diner people really know how to serve up elegance.

We took the Brunch train from Hood River that was very much like that. It was so much fun and a lovely way to see the sights.

Has the hen recovered from her wrinkled feathers yet? :)

Oh, how I love a Marine in dress blues! My Dad was a Marine, but you know, once a Marine, always a Marine! Semper Fi! Heavy emphasis on the Semper.

Those dinner trains really know what they are doing, that's for sure! When we went on the Napa Wine Train everything was fabulous.

Ok, question: What's in the little can on the bread plate? Is it butter, or is it a wedding favor of some kind? And why no photos of the food? I'm dying to see them! Oh, and tell us about the bread basket. It seems to have some pumpernickel in it, maybe? Some unusual black bread, anyway.
