Dog Harmony
Wed Oct 10 2007

The dogs didn't come to the reunion.

Sunny stayed with a relative, and Sandy went to a kennel that the Rescue people like to use. I can see why too because the day before I was to pick her up they gave her a bath, just because. (They are also a dog grooming place.) She looked so pretty!

Anyway, I can tell they missed each other as they have been very chummy.

Notice the dog toy. They wore themselves out playing with it.

I just got a note from Sheltie Rescue last night that they may have found a home for Sandy. A family with one Golden Retriever and two kids. The two kids would be just what Sandy needs to round out her life. Now that she doesn't jump up and check out the counter tops in the kitchen or mess around with shoes or pull stuff out of the waste basket, I think she is civilized enough for polite company.

We shall see though. One of the things they want their dog to do is ride in the car. Sandy is a droolin' fool in the car. And if you take her on a winding road, she tosses her doggy cookies. Though I suspect she might get over that in time. Robbie did.

So if that isn't a deal breaker for them, Sandy may be leaving in a week or two.

I'm gonna miss her.

And so will Sunny.

We may both need therapy.

I wonder if Dr. Rubber Duckie has an opening?

Like kids Dog's steal your heart. Muffit never did get over car sickness but most do.
we have a cooling down from record hear and some showers forcast that we really need. I don't think we will see the fall colors as it takes a good frost and been way too dry, the trees are stressed so not the the best for fall.

I expect you won't be lonesome too long. There'll be another Sheltie come along who needs some socializing. Between you and Sunny, a whole progression of poochies are yours for the future. Despair not.

But they do look chummy. Worn out, but chummy.

    Bless

Passed out puppies are my goal in life. When they are dead on the floor I know that they are not harrassing the cats or stringing toilet paper everywhere or chewing my shoes or putting their noses on my personage. Tired dogs are happy dogs. Tired dogs make happy moms.

And isn't it FUN to make tired dogs??????????
