Hen Urges Calm

[album 65561 GoofyHen2.JPG] Well, I am not worried about reseshuns, or bank failures. I always plan for the future. While others were goofing around, living beyond their means, I was planting my wheat. And to tell you the truth it's getting a little annoying listening to that other fairytale um, fictional character Er.... well you know, the one who is always running around in hollering about the sky falling? (No relation to me by the way) Really, such lack of decorum. Let's keep our heads.... Ummm.... I mean let's not get carried away. I mean we all still have our nest eggs. Right? You DO have your nest egg don't you? Listen, I don't have time for this right now. I have work to do.
(Boy, she's a heartless little bit of poultry isn't she?)

Yes, yes. Most of us did have our nest eggs. Until the economy failed. That didn't happen last week, by the way. It started quite some time ago but pointing that out got some people labled as 'alarmists' and 'democrats'. Heaven forbid I should be considered either when I've spent the last two years hunkering down and watching my IRA take serious hits while the stock market takes a wild ride. Forget my savings account that WAS my 'nest egg', my stop gap. It didn't do much good when there's no work in my part of the country and needed to be spent on such trivial things as heating bills last winter. THANK YOU NAFTA (yeah, yeah. I know that B.C. was the pres. when that little fiasco happened) for snatching every last decent paying job in my region of the country. And thank you George W. Bush for spending my tax money on a war that absolutely WAS NOT JUSTIFIED while things went to absolute sh*t here at home.

Like it. The sky's falling is one story I do remember very well. Love your entry for today.

I find this an in terestimng post. Anyone who has their money in stoks is getting hit and have been getting hit in some cases very hard. People who are already retired and this is their lively hood (many of my freinds)are having difficult times and this has nothing to do with being out there living beyond ones means. The reality of it is these are people no different than you. The other thing I might add here is that I am tired (more like sick) of the Republican candidates and other elected offcials using fear. Trying to scare people into voting for them/their party. Okay, I am done. Shoot that red hen. :-)))))))
